Nota biografica

There is no evidence that he visited Great Britain. However, in 1874, he joined the Società Artistica founded in Florence by Robert Spranger, which attracted a visiting Anglo-Saxon clientele. Perhaps it was in this social ambit that Vinea formed a friendship with the son of the poet Walter Savage Landor, Henry, an explorer and artist himself. As from 1877, he exhibited regularly in England, especially through Tolfrey, who also acted as agent for Andreotti, Bechi, Bortignoni and Chierici.
