All’ambasciata britannica a Roma, dove è impiegato, attorno al 1870 Roesler Franz conosce il console britannico e pittore Joseph Severn, che gli insegna la tecnica dell’acquerello e lo introduce poi al mercato inglese. Come altri artisti romani, si avvale di George Squire come agente per l’Inghilterra. A Monaco di Baviera nel 1879 espone Der Fluss Teith in Schottland (Il fiume Teith in Scozia), e a Torino nel 1880 La piazza di Charing Cross a Londra. All’Italian Exhibition di Londra del 1904 il pittore espone ottanta vedute di Roma medievale insieme alle sculture di Costantino Barbella.

At the British Embassy in Rome, where he was employed, around 1870 Roesler Franz met Joseph Severn, the British consul and a painter, who taught him the watercolour technique and introduced him to the English market. Like other Roman artists, he availed himself of George Squire as his agent for England. In Munich in 1879 he exhibited Der Fluss Teith in Schottland (The river Teith in Scotland) and at Turin in 1880, La piazza di Charing Cross a Londra (Charing Cross Square, London). At the Italian Exhibition in London of 1904, he exhibited eighty views of medieval Rome, together with scuptures by Costantino Barbella.
